The most practical way to evaluate spool serviceability is to do it yourself on a sample. The process should take a few minutes, not a half-hour struggle.
Test procedure:
- Remove the spool cover (following the instructions in the user manual — if the manual is unclear, that is a finding).

- Cut a length of bulk line (the diameter specified for the model).
- Wind the line onto the spool following the directional arrows molded into the spool.
